During these trying times due to COVID-19, Oregon Eye Consultants has created a Telemedicine Platform to better serve our patients.
You can now have your visit via video chat!
These services are available to people experiencing the following ocular conditions:
Allergic eye disease (itchy eyes)
Dry or irritated eyes
Excessive tearing
Eyelid conditions, such as styes
Some other conditions not listed above
Patients will need a smart phone, tablet or a computer to access the telemedicine visits. Please have your insurance information available, along with a proof of ID and co-payment option just as you would an in-clinic appointment.
All telemedicine visits at this time are with our comprehensive ophthalmologist and cornea specialist, W. Benjamin Kunz, MD.
Our telemedicine services are available to the following communities: Eugene, Springfield, Newport, Florence, North Bend, Coos Bay, Roseburg and surrounding areas. To arrange an appointment, please call our offices at 541-687-1927.
Current platforms for videochat with our physician include:
- Facetime
- Google Hangouts
- Skype
Note that some conditions may not be treatable via a virtual visit. Conditions such as pressure checks for glaucoma and conditions requiring special diagnostic imaging among others cannot be assessed or treated during a virtual visit.
